This episode has come into a reality when Micheal Carandang, ANTM producer, approached Francis Libiran if he would be interested to do a collaboration for the show. Not one to shirk from a challenge, Francis Libiran readily created an interesting mix of clothes, so different from the silhouette he is known for. It's fun, fresh and playful drawing inspirations from Japanese Kimono to our beloved Filipiniana.
The uniqueness in creating the looks for this specific episode lies in the materials used for the designs. Everything in these garments are made out of Hello Kitty items- mirrors, lunch boxes, band aid, etc. To quote Mr. Carandang, the challenge with this kind of photoshoot is not only for the models but to the stylists, photographers and designers as well.
Just a small FYI for Hello Kitty's fanatic and non-fanatic alike: Sanrio was founded in 1960 by Mr. Shintaro Tsuji. The company is best know for its Hello Kitty character. Years and countless stores scattered across the continent later, it still has lived by its "small gift, big smile" philosophy.
Happy Anniversary Hello Kitty! Here are the behind the scenes take from ANTM set. This episode will be aired in ETC on April 30.

ReplyDeleteQuite intense! I don't think you usually see such fierce poses with hello kitty. They usually go for cuter things.
ReplyDeleteaki, i guess you don't usually see fierce poses with hello kitty, because it's a japanese character and japanese like kawaii/cute things.
