R A I N

So the month of July finally came.  While under the temperamental weather, splashed and getting another dose of free showers from the rain.


I gave in to a mini marathon for an exchange of refuge under the waiting shed after my class. Shivering like a wet puppy, half drenched in my suppose to be fantabulous outfit, I let out a futile effort at cursing the white tube top and elephant pants that I had decided to wear for the day.  Frozen from the icy breath of the wind, it took me a long while to notice this guy standing directly in front of me.








Guy: Miss? Are you okay?
Me: Err yeah. Just a little wet. Managing a shrug.

Since I was busy drying myself from the tissue wipes that had bits clinging endlessly to me. I didn't have the courtesy to even look up.

Guy: I can see that. Here take this.
And then, he laughed. A rich throaty one that reminded me of something.

I manage to peek under my embarrassing state of dripping clothes and disheveled hair.  In front of me was a guy, he was standing half turned to me, handing me a jacket.  I studied his profile while he was lost in thoughts blindly staring at the drops of rainfall.  I noticed how tall he was, tracing the powerful strength of his stance, slowly my eyes drifted to his face still hidden behind his cap. Mentally, I was putting a face to this stranger who seemed to have me glued in that spot.

Me: Thank You. But I'm fine.

Then he faced me.

Guy: You always say that.
Covering me with the jacket.

By then, a car stopped in front of us.

Guy: You take care. Rains can be really unpredictable.

I saw then a blur of a passing car, zooming away from me. Clutching the jacket, I braved out the storm, my vision slowly blurring.  Heart as cold as the fierce wind.
